Gujarat BJP delays ‘Chintan Shivir’ because of Covid-19 pandemic

The decision BJP in Gujarat has chosen to defer its two-day ‘Chintan Shivir’ (meeting to generate new ideas), which was booked to start on November 21, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, a gathering representative said on Friday. State BJP president CR Paatil should seat the two-day meeting in Gandhinagar, and boss clergyman Vijay Rupani and his delegate Nitin Patel were likewise booked to join in, state BJP representative Bharat Pandya said.

“It’s an old tradition in the BJP to organise Chintan Shivirs to discuss issues concerning people, about the party’s organisation and elections.

In view of the present coronavirus situation, we have decided to postpone the session for now,” Pandya said.

The meeting will be held at a fitting time later on, he added.

Gujarat has been seeing an abrupt spike in Covid-19 cases since the start of this current month.

More than 1,300 new cases were distinguished on Thursday, of which Ahmedabad area alone recorded 246 diseases.
